Limestone Base

Limestone base is produced from solid rock. It is blasted, crushed and screened to ultimately arrive at a product which is a mixture of 1 ¾ inch stones down to microscopic particles and every size in between.

Rip Rap

Rip Rap is rock or other material used to armor shorelines, streambeds, bridge abutments, pilings and other shoreline structures against scour and water erosion. It is made from a variety of rock types, commonly granite or limestone, and occasionally concrete rubble.

Railroad Ballast

Railroad ballast forms the trackbed upon which railway sleepers (UK) or railroad ties (US) are laid. It is packed between, below, and around the ties.

Stabilized Materials

Stabilized Materials refers to a class of paving materials that are mixtures of one or more sources of aggregate and cementitious material.

Recycled Concrete

Recycled concrete comes from structures made of concrete which are demolished or renovated. Concrete recycling is an increasingly common method of utilizing the rubble.

Milled Asphalt

Milled asphalt is widely used for pavement recycling today, where the pavement is removed and ground up to be used as the aggregate in new pavement.

Sand is a naturally occurring granular material composed of finely divided rock and mineral particles. It is defined by size, being finer than gravel and coarser than silt.

Gravel is an important commercial product, with a number of applications. Many roadways are surfaced with gravel, especially in rural areas where there is little traffic.

Gulf Coast Limestone, Inc.

Gulf Coast Limestone, Inc., began operations in 1962 in Southeast Texas. We are a family owned company founded by, G.W. Robinson, who saw a need for a full scale limestone company in the area. What started out as a small company has grown into a company which serves North, Central and Southeast Texas as well as Louisiana and Oklahoma. Gulf Coast Limestone prides itself on supplying superior quality products and excellent customer service. All of our personnel are committed to our customers’ satisfaction. It is this customer loyalty and competitive pricing that has made Gulf Coast Limestone, Inc. the oldest limestone business in Southeast Texas.

The company currently runs nine hydraulic breakers, a Rip Rap Plant, Powerscreen and several Scalpers. Each breaker handles duties at different locations. Two HB 2200 models, both mounted on Cat 325 excavators, are stationed at quarries near Dallas and Austin. An MB 1200 works in a quarry north of San Antonio, and an MB 800 produces concrete rip rap at ready-mix yards in the Houston area. The MB 1200 is being used exclusively on limestone. And since concrete is easier to break than the natural stone rip rap, we use the smallest unit for our concrete rip rap product. The Lippmann 6224 Rip Rap Plant & the Chieftain Power Screen are used to produce most of the smaller rip rap and armor stone.
